Congratulations to Susie Griffin, winner of the inaugural Queer Screen’s Frank Wells Volunteer Award. She was chosen by her fellow volunteers for her team-work, friendly personality and generous contribution.
Susie won an Open Ticket to every Queer Screen screening for the next 12 months and a $150 JB HI-FI voucher.
Queer Screen joined the National Volunteer Week celebrations by awarding the prize on Saturday 17th May at a function at Ginger’s on Oxford Street, attended by volunteers and special supporters of the Organisation.
Runners-up to this year award were Kevin Ryan and Catherine Knight. They won a double-pass to Queer Screen Film Fest 2014 and a $10 JB HI-FI voucher.
A special mention was given to Warren Smith, who won a double-pass to Queer Screen Film Fest 2014.
“Volunteers are the lifeblood of any not-for-profit organisation and every month 100s of hours of volunteer time go into keeping Queer Screen alive and relevant”, Queer Screen’s President Giovanni Campolo-Arcidiaco said. “We are fortunate and grateful to have a great team to work with, and much support from our members and supporters.”
Nominations for the Queer Screen’s Frank Wells Volunteer Award 2015 are now open and will be accepted until 31 March 2015.
