The 28th Mardi Gras Film Festival will host a variety of screenings and events from the 18 February-4 March 2021.
We will screen at a variety of cinema venues, and will have 55% of the program available to stream online. Meaning you can choose which film you want to watch—and the when and how!

No! The beauty of online is that as soon as 7pm hits on February 18th 2021, you will have access to all films in the online festival program until 11:59pm 4th March 2021.
From the 18 February – 4 March, you can hit play at any time and will have 72 hours to finish watching the film.

Films are available to watch online from within Australia only.
When you purchase an On Demand ticket from Queer Screen, you enter into an agreement wherein you agree to screen the film privately within your home or on your own device. So, if you are watching at home, you can watch with friends, of course! You can purchase a single ticket or a household ticket, it’s up to you.
For the purposes of copyright in Australia, a screening of a film outside the home is generally regarded as “in public” and is prohibited. Transmitting the film via a third party platform or network, or to a group through an internal network is regarded as a public screening. Any screenings of this nature without written permission from Queer Screen and the copyrights owner are strictly forbidden.
From the moment you press play, a film will be available for 72 hours. You can rewind, forward through, pause or exit and restart the film within that time frame.
Access to all content will cease at 11.59pm AEDT on Thursday 4 March, 2021. Please ensure you have sufficient time to watch all purchased films as refunds will not be given for unwatched or unfinished films.
For those who are familiar with Queer Screen, the process for buying a ticket has not changed – just login to your account and start purchasing!
For those new to Queer Screen, you will need to create a new account and password.

All of our tickets will be available within your account to access anytime between the festival dates.
Mardi Gras Film Festival will have three types of passes available for online sessions only: an Online Pass 3, Online Pass 10 and an All Access Online Pass. So you can watch, 3, 5 or ALL online sessions!
You will still need to book a ticket to each film you want to see with your online pass—this includes the Online All In Pass. Simply follow the instructions on the receipt and book a spot for the films you’d like to see.

Some online sessions may sell out! Why? Well, some films have a limited streaming capacity due to arrangements with filmmakers, sales agents and distributors and the classification board.
Yes! We are happy to announce the Asia Pacific Queer Film Festival Alliance and Queer Doc Shorts will be available for free. You will need to login to your account to get your free ticket. And note that like the other films, there are limited tickets available.
We will also have a bunch of Filmmaker Q&A’s, In Conversations, Panels and a Filmmaker Masterclass available for free.
Members still receive discounted tickets for all sessions, including in person and online screenings.
