MGFF21 Online Streaming FAQ

The 28th Mardi Gras Film Festival will host a variety of screenings and events from the 18 February-4 March 2021.

We will screen at a variety of cinema venues, and will have 55% of the program available to stream online. Meaning you can choose which film you want to watch—and the when and how!

If you still have any questions, contact us!

Do I have to watch an online screening at a particular time or date?

No! The beauty of online is that as soon as 7pm hits on February 18th 2021, you will have access to all films in the online festival program until 11:59pm 4th March 2021.

From the 18 February – 4 March, you can hit play at any time and will have 72 hours to finish watching the film.

Can I watch online screenings from anywhere?

Films are available to watch online from within Australia only.

Can I watch On Demand with friends?

When you purchase an On Demand ticket from Queer Screen, you enter into an agreement wherein you agree to screen the film privately within your home or on your own device. So, if you are watching at home, you can watch with friends, of course! You can purchase a single ticket or a household ticket, it’s up to you.

For the purposes of copyright in Australia, a screening of a film outside the home is generally regarded as “in public” and is prohibited. Transmitting the film via a third party platform or network, or to a group through an internal network is regarded as a public screening.  Any screenings of this nature without written permission from Queer Screen and the copyrights owner are strictly forbidden.

Can I stop and start while screening?

From the moment you press play, a film will be available for 72 hours. You can rewind, forward through, pause or exit and restart the film within that time frame.

Access to all content will cease at 11.59pm AEDT on Thursday 4 March, 2021. Please ensure you have sufficient time to watch all purchased films as refunds will not be given for unwatched or unfinished films.
