Currently in production, Out Late is a documentary telling the stories of women who have come out in later life. These are women like Barbara, who have found the courage to share the details of their difficult but rewarding journeys because they know how much their stories will support others.
I am 59. I am a high femme woman who came out about four years ago. A crazy journey since I was a child and I wouldn’t want any other woman to go on the journey I did. To get to a place where finally knew it was now or never. Thanks for making this film. If one woman is encourage to break free, to not endure the confusion, shame and fear I went through as a result, congratulations. Please I do ask you one thing, include a femme woman in your film. So many are fearful to come out because they lack the courage to not be accepted as a lesbian because they don’t feel they fit the stereotypes they see. I know I was vilified when I came out as not looking like a lesbian. Barbara
This is a long term project, and the producers of Out Late will be looking for participants, crew and production assistants, during the course of this year. All are welcome to join in.
