Shot over five years, this heartwarming documentary showcases a soccer club that became a welcoming safe haven for vulnerable LGBTIQ+ teenagers, many of whom struggle with homelessness and discrimination. Lotus Sports Club centres on the turbulent coming of age of Leak, a teenage trans boy taking his first steps away from this refuge and into the outside world. What evolves is a deeply euphoric film about the formation of identity, family and acceptance.
