Armenian weightlifter Mel Daluzyan was a beloved national champion who won medals and broke world records – before his transition.

But for Mel every victory was laced with sadness, as the world did not see him as the man he knew he was. Hoping to come out privately and eventually find a way to compete as a man, his life is turned upside down when he is publicly outed and anti-trans protests sweep the nation. This documentary follows Mel and his girlfriend as they seek asylum in the Netherlands, faced with leaving his country and career behind.
