Shall I Compare You to a Summer’s Day?

Original language title: Bashtaalak sa’at
Book Tix!

Arabic pop songs, polyamorous gay confessionals and romance swirl together in this evocative experimental film exploring the love lives of gay Arab men.

This arthouse take on Shakespeare’s sonnet fuses genres to capture stories of love, longing and loss. Men ask their lovers about threesomes, Grindr hookups and dating, in this chorus of stories about unexpected encounters and inevitable endings. This mixed media experience is an engrossing look into Arab queerness – with its joys and pitfalls – while playing with sound, dramaturgy and music.
