How much of what is done for family comes from a sense of duty, or from genuine love?
That’s the question posed in this heartrending family drama starring its writer, Doua Moua (Mulan), as an estranged son returning to his Hmong-American family when they’re in strife. While his father is in kidney failure, he steps up to the patriarchal role required of him while shielding his own secret that he cannot bring himself to divulge. The Harvest gives a meditative and thoughtful insight into the cultural clash of tradition with living authentically.
Please note: Sunday 25 February is a relaxed screening.
