We are absolutely thrilled to be taking the Mardi Gras Film Festival on tour to Mt Vic Flicks in the Blue Mountains, and to Dendy Canberra.
The selection includes The Divide, from out filmmaker, Catherine Corsini (Summertime, MGFF16 Opening Night) fresh from winning the Queer Palm Award at Cannes, 2021; animations, coming-of-age tales, comedy, documentaries and more in My Queer Career, Australia’s richest queer short film prize; a stirring portrait of a man repeatedly imprisoned for homosexuality in post-war Germany, and the relationship he slowly develops with his cellmate Viktor in Great Freedom, and a bunch of the best short films from all our packages in Best of MGFF22 Shorts.

The Mardi Gras Film Festival screenings in the Blue Mountains have been postponed from 11 – 13 Mar until 20 – 22 May. Our wonderful venue Mount Vic Flicks is currently closed due to flood damage to the access roads to the cinema. Tickets are on sale for the new dates and current ticket holders have been informed of their options.
Great Freedom – Repeatedly imprisoned for homosexuality in post-war Germany, Hans finds unlikely companionship with cellmate Viktor in this unflinching yet tender film. Winner of the Un Certain Regard Jury Prize at Cannes.
Best of MGFF22 Shorts – Come on tour and celebrate the best short films of MGFF22 with these six fantastic offerings. Travel the world from the US to Norway, Libya and India, be transfixed, fall in love and find solace in the captivating short films up as the Best of the Fest.
The Divide – In this medical black-comedy, Raf enters a struggling French hospital with a broken arm and a broken heart, hoping to win back her unhappy wife as disparate patients are forced to interact and Paris erupts in protest around them.
My Queer Career – This year, there are eight magnificent entrants to My Queer Career, Australia’s richest queer short film prize. With animations, coming-of-age tales, comedy, documentaries and more these short films are to be missed, this festival!
