This exquisite drama, Swedish-Georgian filmmaker Levan Akin’s follow-up to the acclaimed And Then We Danced (MGFF20), won the Audience Award for Narrative Feature at our Sydney festival!

Retired Georgian teacher Lia promised her dying sister she would find her runaway trans niece, Tekla. When boisterous neighbour Achi claims to know where Tekla is, he offers to accompany Lia to Türkiye to find her. But their search through the bustling streets of Istanbul seems in vain until they meet trans lawyer Evrim. On her own journey of self-discovery, navigating a flirtatious relationship with a local taxi diver, she introduces them to a whole other side of the city and its vibrant trans and queer community.
