Panels at the State Library of NSW + Australian Premiere of Sally! | 2025 Mardi Gras Film Festival

The State Library of NSW hosted thought-provoking panels that sparked meaningful conversations, including Queering The Writers Room and It Should’ve Been Queer.  The festival also featured the Australian premiere of Sally! After the screening, co-directors and producers Jörg Fockele and Ondine Rarey took the stage for an insightful Q&A, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the making of this powerful film.

Opening Night Gala | 2025 Mardi Gras Film Festival

We have officially rolled out the pink carpet and opened our 32nd Mardi Gras Film Festival for the Sydney Premiere of Young Hearts presented with European Union Delgation in Australia.

Program Launch Party | Queer Screen’s 32nd Mardi Gras Film Festival

MGFF25 has launched! Last night Queer Screen’s 32nd Mardi Gras Film Festival (MGFF25) Program Launch Party was held at the State Library of NSW. Over 300 guests were treated to fantastic food and drink options from our fabulous Launch Partners: Laissez-Faire Catering, Mt Yengo Wines, AIX, Young Henrys, and Smize & Dream Ice Cream. We were welcomed to Country by City of Sydney Councillor Yvonne Weldon, AM. Queer Screen Co-Chairs Abs Osseiran and Co-Chair Angela Ruchin then took to the stage to introduce this year’s theme ‘Coming Together For The Love of Cinema’ and Festival Director Lisa Rose shared her highlights of the 2025 program.
