A bequest is a very real way to make a positive difference to the future of Queer Screen.
Through a bequest, it is possible to achieve more and ensure that the LGBTIQ community will continue to receive the benefit and services that Queer Screen provides.
Leaving a bequest to Queer Screen is the ultimate expression of support for Queer Stories and Queer Filmmakers.
If you decide to leave a bequest to Queer Screen, please let us know so that we can keep you updated about our plans for the future. Please choose your preferred method of contact from this page.
Here below is a sample of the text you can use for a bequest:
“I give devise and bequeath to Queer Screen ABN 60 0599 631 10 for the general purposes of Queer Screen and it’s activities:
(a) the whole of my Estate of whatsoever kind and wheresoever situate
(b) ………… % of my Estate
(c) and/or the sum of $ …. free of all duties and taxes payable at my death and I declare that the receipt of the Treasurer or other Proper Officer for the time being of the said office shall be sufficient discharge for my trustees.”
Note: choices (a), (b) and (c) should be followed by the statement: “after the payment of all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses and all duties, taxes and charges payable on my Estate at my death. If the organisation no longer exists then to the charitable organisation that the executor best thinks fits the description.”
According to the Wills Act, all Wills and Codicils must be in writing, signed by the Testator, and attested by two witnesses in the presence of the Testator and of each other.
