Prolific low-budget filmmaker Alice Maio Mackay (T Blockers, Satranic Panic) turns her singular eye to Christmas in this grisly neon slasher, edited by Vera Drew (The People’s Joker, MGFF24).
When true crime podcaster and sleuth Lola visits her hometown for the first time since transitioning, the vengeful ghost of a historic murderer (and urban legend) seemingly rises to kill again. With a psychotic serial killing Santa on the loose in a town haunted by secrets, Lola must solve the case before her community is slaughtered. Filled with a DIY charm that recalls John Waters, Carnage for Christmas marks the 20 year-old Australian’s fifth film in just three years.
