Infused with naturalistic dialogue and compelling performances, Romas Zabarauskas’ English-language debut is a meditation on the past and the capacity for change.
When Lithuanian-American author Kostas publishes a book inspired by his separation from former lover Dima, Dima turns up out of the blue to correct some facts. Decades since Kostas left Dima behind in newly-independent Lithuania to study in New York, they’d fallen in love while serving in the Soviet army. Their reunion soon becomes a verbal sparring match, as they confront their personal and political past, in this beautifully crafted two-hander.
