A trans woman returns to her rural roots after her estranged father’s passing, in this beautiful and powerful Korean drama.
Shin Myung is a waacking queen on the Seoul nightclub scene, trying to save money for gender affirming surgery. But the unexpected death of her father forces her to return to a life long left behind, to lead a Buddhist mourning dance ritual. Her defiant presence in the community that once ostracised her is both a source of controversy to some and an unexpected beacon of hope to others, especially her closeted gay cousin. Guided by the spirit of a peafowl, she finds herself not only reconnecting with the past, but reinvigorating her passion for dance.
