Same, Again is the latest partially improvised Colombian feature from prolific queer director Ruth Caudeli (Eva and Candela, MGFF19; Leading Ladies, MGFF22).

Caudeli masterfully unravels the hidden complexities and interpersonal conflicts within a Colombian theatre troupe, where hidden abuses come to light during rehearsals, sparking revelations among its female members. As the women reveal their buried scars, they find strength in solidarity. With suspenseful storytelling and sensitive direction, this drama explores the ways we hurt and heal each other and the power of reclaiming agency. A thought-provoking film offering an unflinching look at the invisible chains that bind us and the courage it takes to break free.
